Our Purpose Matters
We are a dedicated special education school committed to empowering educationally challenged students aged 4 to 18 through specialized programs and support to foster their independence.
Comprehensive Educational Programmes
Our tailored programmes address the unique needs of each student, promoting both academic and vocational skills for effective personal growth.
Vocational Training
We aim to provide practical job specific skills, to help increase the student's chance of being self employed or be in organisational employment. The following subject areas are available: *Cosmetology/Barbering *Computer Lab which is available to the entire school population *Home Economics *Woodwork
Individual Support
The Association at The Learning Centre aims to increase public awareness, provide information to families and educators and oversee the operations through a nine member committee. Students aged 4 to 18 years old are enrolled based on educational assessments. Individualised 'educational prescriptions' are developed to address specific needs.
Academic Development
The Learning Centre teaches the students the following academic skills to encourage confidence in the following areas: *Phonics *Handwriting *Spelling and Reading *Mathematics *Science *Social Studies *Physical Activities *Visual Skills *Language Arts *Home and Family Life Education *Fine and Gross Motor Skills
Programmes Summary
The Learning Centre considers that programmes for the personal growth, development and training of the learning disabled will also relieve a lot of pressure from the family and the society since such programmes help promote the self-reliance of the learning disabled. It is our well considered view that these programmes will also contribute to a reduction of social problems among the educationally challenged, including juvenile delinquency, teenage pregnancy and so on.
